The supreme rule of religious life is the following of Christ. Christ is the supreme truth: I am the Truth (Jn 14:6). But to follow Christ as Truth means to apply one's intelligence to know him better, which must be something permanent in the disciple since the richness found in Christ is inexhaustible. This is the foundation of the ongoing formation of contemplatives.

"A solid intellectual formation that responds to the objectives of the vocation and to the mission of the Institute itself must be considered (...) as the basis of a rich and balanced life of prayer and contemplation". The knowledge and joy of the spirit in the order that the Creator and Redeemer placed in the universe and in man, called to eternal life, is part of the relationship with God and the basis of all evangelization of culture. "Our strength and our joy are in the Truth and our ideal is in witnessing to this truth."

Study will be useful for the contemplative life itself "directly, by aiding contemplation, that is, by enlightening the understanding, indirectly, by removing the dangers of contemplation, that is, the errors, which frequently occur in the contemplation of the divine to those who do not know the Scriptures..."
