“We wish to be founded in Jesus Christ, who came in the flesh, and only in Christ, and always Christ, and Christ in all, and Christ in everyone, because the rock is Christ, and no one can put another foundation.”

May 3rd, 1981, Father Carlos Miguel Buela, while in the confessional, received the inspiration to found a Religious Congregation.

The Institute of the Incarnate Word, together with its apostolic and contemplative branch are essentially missionary and marian. Its members are priests, seminarians, and Coadjutor Brothers. The institute has its beginnings in Argentina, March 25th, 1984, the day on which Saint John Paul II, the Spiritual Father of the Religious Family of the Incarnate Word, consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Today, IVE has many houses of formation around the world: Minor Seminaries for High Schoolers, Postulancies, Novitiates, Major Seminaries and a house of Formation for the contemplative life in the Sanctuary of El Pueyo, Spain.
